چکیده

The degree of engagement in a computer game is determined by sensory immersion (i.e. effects of display technology) and challenge immersion (i.e. effects of task demand). Twenty participants played a computer game under two display conditions (a large TV vs. head-mounted display) with three levels of cognitive challenge (easy/hard/impossible). Immersion was defined as selective attention to external (non-game related) auditory stimuli and measured implicitly as event-related

Immersion and affect in a brain-computer interface game

As the scope of the brain-computer interface (BCI) applications is extending from medical to recreational use, the expectations of BCIs are also changing. Although the performance of BCIs is still important, finding suitable BCI modalities and investigating their influence on user experience demand more and more attention. As BCIs have widely been used in medical applications, to facilitate mak...

Event-related potentials indicate bi-hemispherical changes in speech sound processing during aphasia rehabilitation.

OBJECTIVE To investigate changes in brain activation related to tone and speech sound processing during aphasia rehabilitation. DESIGN Longitudinal study investigating patients with stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage and traumatic brain injury 3 and 7 months post-injury. SUBJECTS Eight patients with aphasia, reflecting a wide range of auditory comprehension impairment. METHODS Token test and...

Dynamic system of strategic games

Maybe an event can't be modeled completely through one game but there is more chance with several games. With emphasis on players' rationality, we present new properties of strategic games, which result in production of other games. Here, a new attitude to modeling will be presented in game theory as dynamic system of strategic games and its some applications such as analysis of the clash betwe...

Event-Related Potentials of Bottom-Up and Top-Down Processing of Emotional Faces

Introduction: Emotional stimulus is processed automatically in a bottom-up way or can be processed voluntarily in a top-down way. Imaging studies have indicated that bottom-up and top-down processing are mediated through different neural systems. However, temporal differentiation of top-down versus bottom-up processing of facial emotional expressions has remained to be clarified. The present st...

A comparative study on long-term evoked auditory and visual potential responses between Schizophrenic patients and normal subjects

BACKGROUND The electrical signals measuring method is recommended to examine the relationship between neuronal activities and measure with the event related potentials (ERPs) during an auditory and a visual oddball paradigm between schizophrenic patients and normal subjects. The aim of this study is to discriminate the activation changes of different stimulations evoked by auditory and visual E...
